Question

Creating LRC catalog from images/files in SharePoint

Hi - I'm trying to help someone set up a LRC catalog but am working with them remotely. Once created, the catalog will live on their hard drive (or somewhere locally), but I'm trying to work with them to get it set up. For collaboration purposes, they have set up a SharePoint site for us to begin storing the images and start creating the catalog. I set up a test folder at the SharePoint set with a few images and am finding that I cannot import those images into a test catalog I created in LRC. From what I've seen, LRC can only import locally stored images. But I'd like to clarify that before looking for a solution outside of LRC.

Any suggestions???

Thank you!

Images must be on a local drive or a NAS drive. They cannot be anywhere else.

But I don't understand your setup, and I don't understand "... am finding that I cannot import those images into a test catalog". You haven't given us any idea of what is stopping you or what happens you try, and so blaming this on SharePoint could be correct, or it could be something entirely different.

Thanks for the quick response and I'm sorry for not explaining what I did.

I set up an empty test catalog on my laptop and moved 5 of my images to a folder on the SharePoint site, just to see if it is possible to import images from SharePoint into a LRC catalog. When I go to the Import screen, I only see my local drives and no option to get photos from anywhere else. If it was possible to import from a web source, I would expect to be able to enter the URL of the folder in SharePoint. It makes sense, since you confirmed that the photos need to be stored locally or on a NAS drive.
