Creating new catalogue issues - Can't select photos from the folder.

Hi all,

I've encountered  problem whereby I'm trying to create a new catalgoue and I'm unable to load photos into the 'new catalogue'.  File explorer (win) shows the folder and images etc, but I can't select any of the images into the new catalogue.  I have urgent edits to complete.

Some other things of note:

- I recently had to delete the Camera Raw GPU Config.txt file so I could use GPU processing again after AMD graphics update.

- To action the above I had to show hidden folders to access the above file.

- I've tried taking off view only (don't know how that got turned on), but still unable to select and load photos.

I'm stumped.

Please help!  Thanks so mcuh.

"Load" — do you mean "Import"?

File explorer (win) shows the folder and images etc, but I can't select any of the images into the new catalogue.

Windows File explorer should not appear in the Import dialog. So you can't be doing an import. Most likely, you have selected File->New Catalog, and then you get the Windows Explorer window. Please confirm this is what you have done that causes the Windows Explorer window to appear.

In this case, when Windows Explorer appears, you don't select photos; that's not appropriate here. Instead, you need to select a folder where the new catalog should be stored, and then give the new catalog a name and then press "Create"

Thank you!

That's correct - exactly!  Clearly my brain wasn't working yesterday ughhhhhh, how embarrassing.  All sorted.  Appreciate it!

Please share more details. A screen capture of your open import dialog could help as well.

While being in the import dialog, you don't see the folders / photos?

You see all in import, kick import and don't see them in the library afterwards?

....
