Cropping

I always crop my photos to 8 x 10, and it would be handy if that could be included in Preferences so that I don't have to select that size for every single photo.

Expand the Disclosure Triangle next to Saved Preset to expose the Crop Ratio, It allows you to set the Aspect Ratio of a group of images though individual tweaks may be necessary for composition. It does do some of the heavy lifting for you.

Personally, I wouldn't know where to place the crop in an image without looking at it. The positioning would be based on what parts of the photo I wanted to show. I mention this in case you are saying crop when you mean image size. The latter is done in print and export and has no relation to crop.

Hi DS256, I do mean crop and not image size. If I had 8x10 preselected for every photo, it would still only put the outline of that size on top of the original and allow me to move it around to the best place.

Select many photos in Grid Mode and crop them all at once in the Quick Develop Panel in Library.

Rikk, I don't think you can apply a crop in the Quick Develop panel. There is no crop tool in that panel and a crop cannot be saved in a preset as far as I know (although I believe there is a plugin that can do this). What you can do however is select multiple images, go to the crop tool in the develop panel, and make sure that 'Auto Sync' is enabled. Then apply the crop.
