date stamp on photos

I'm using LIghtroom version 5.  I take photos with a high end camera, but the camera doesn't have a feature to turn on a date stamp. My job requires certain photos to be date stamped so that the date is visible on the photo. Most cameras do this and it shows up in the corner. My Sony A6000 does not. I know the date is cheesy, but theses aren't wedding photos! They are work related and it's mandatory to be date stamped.

So...How can i get LIghtroom to date stamp the photo? The information is in the metadata, but I can't figure out how to get the date to display on the image. I use a MAC which further complicates things. Has anybody cracked this code???

    You'll need the Lr/Mogrify plugin.

    You could use the Print Module, but there are several limitations-

    1) The [Date] does not appear 'ON' the image. It appears below on a border.

    2) [Print to JPEG] does not use the original Filename but instead uses the {Folder name- Sequence}

    3) You can define 'inch' border margins (calculated from ppi and pixels)

    Set your PPI and Custom File Dimensions (5x7inch 300ppi = 1500x2100px) in the Print Job panel-

    Set your margins in the Layout panel- (Mine shown in my clips are not 50px!)

    Set the Photo Info for [Date] in the Page panel-  (Presuming that LrC has 'Date' recorded in metadata for photos.)

    Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

    Hi John, I came back looking for some help and hoped I'd find one of your posts! Mogrify gives me the function I was looking for to add text and borders and my photos are exactly how I'd imagined with one exception and it's a real problem to get them printed. I want to add 50 pixel border and still end up with a 7x5 at 300 dpi - I can only seem to get it so 1 side ends up a thrid bigger (eg 5 x 7.33 or 1500 x 2200) I would have thought if I set up my LR expost to be 1400 x 2000 I would end up with 1500 x 2100 but I'm not! I hope this makes sense, do you have any suggestions coz my lab isn't going to want to help me with the plug in side and it's interactions with LR... Hoping for any time you have to spare to help me with this! (PS thanks for the mogrify suggestion as I found it and the post security upadte fix from your comments on here x)

    @RhiTheWee, I don't have any experience actually using Lr/Mogrify, so I won't be of much help, unfortunately.
