Question

delayed write failure converting to DNG

Not sure if this is a lightroom, windows or synology problem atm so am logging in each.

I am running lightroom classic on a windows laptop connected via gigabit to synology NAS.

When I try to import using copy and convert to dng. The copy goes fine but the convert to DNG logs a delayed write failue in the windows event log x5. Then lightroom goes not responding and won't even die when a kill task is issued. Only a manual (power button) shut down works.

This is a process that I have been using for years totally sucessfully.

There are no errors logged on the synology where the original and target file are stored.

Any ideas for troubleshooting?

To troubleshoot further are you able to create a DNG locally? Do you have another external to write to as well? And can you drag-copy a dng to your NAS?

I imported a local file and it converted to DNG OK. I then copied it to the NAS no problem.

I then tried experimenting back to the original NAS.

1,3 and 10 files at a time worked ok. I then finished off the folder (70) files and it stuck again.
