Delete from LRC 5star collection

Going to need a lot more info.

You can't Delete images from any Collection. you can only Remove them From that collection. If this is a Smart Collection of images that have a 5 star rating then you can't really Remove (or in your words Delete) them from that collection. To get them out of a 5 star smart collection you remove the 5 star rating. To do that Click the 5th star in the line and that removes that rating, back to No Stars. It will then be removed from the 5 star smart collection.

If you really want to Delete that image from the LR catalog and from your hard drive you must do that from the folder it is in on your hard drive.

Right click on that image and select Go to Folder in Library. From there right click the image and select Remove Photo (or Remove Photos if more than one image is selected) and the either the Remove from catalog or Delete button on the dialog window that comes up.

Are you talking about a collection or smart collection?

I can change the star rating in either.  In the smart collection is disappears as expected.

You can't delete from a collection, you can only remove.    You can't delete or remove from a smart collection.
