Hallo

In the latest update of LR, It does seem to permanently delete my files from the disk as it did in previous versions although I have chosen that opting in the dialog.

Is there som safety mark you have to uncheck perhaps?

Thanks

/Ulf

    Correct answer Just Shoot Me

    Working properly on my system.

Marked with X, hit Ctrl + Backspace keys, dialog box comes up and I select Delete from Disk. The image files are move to the Recycle bin.

Could be you have 2 different copies of those files and the ones you think are not being deleted are actually the second copy.

Go to one of the images you think are in the same folder, right click and select show in Finder/Explorer and see if it is the same folder that still has those deleted images in.

The 2 copies of the same images happens if you import from one of your drives, Not a memory card, and you forgot to select "Add" and it is set to Copy in the import dialog window.

Thanks guys. Did a quick test on some JPG files, and now it worked as it should. Will monitor more closely next time I have to do it for real.

    Thanks again.

I'm glad you seem, and I do mean SEEM, to have it working but there is nothing in LR that would stop this function from work as it should in the first place.

The only reason that you THINK it wasn't working properly is if you had duplicates of the images on your drive. One set in one folder and the second set in a completely different folder. One of those duplicate sets are imported into the LR catalog file and the other are not. When you delete from LR and then look at your drive you are looking in the second set, folder, and it appears they are not being delete.

Can you post a screenshot of the dialog box or option you mention above thanks Ulf?
