Did you use your operating system all disks to search for catalogs (files whose name ends with .LRCAT)? Did you use your operating system to search all disks for photos?

More than likely, the upgrade of the catalog found the wrong catalog file to upgrade, and so your previous catalog file is still there somewhere. You need to find it and then upgrade that catalog file.

You are probably being presented with the wrong catalog. During an upgrade, LrC should upgrade the correct catalog, the most previously used catalog, but sometimes LrC upgrades the wrong catalog, or creates a new catalog. This might be due to a corrupt preference file. And it could (rarely, be an issue in /preferences/general with what catalog is set to be opened)

Use your MACOS Finder to locate the correct previous catalog, double click on it to open and start the upgrade of that catalog.

Also, in LrC preferences, in the General tab, look at what is setup for what catalog to open.

And consider resetting/refresh the preference file.
