Question

Deleted Presets Still Available in List

Hey all,

I recently had some extraneous presets that I decided I didn't want cluttering up my LR presets list, and went in to delete them. When you go to the LR Preset folder, it's entirely empty. No develop presets whatsoever@. However. when I'm in develop mode and go to look at my preset menu, all of the presets are still listed on the left-hand panel and can be applied to photos (despite the warning that says "preset not found" on the right-hand side). I've entirely uninstalled LR numerous times, even selecting the option to delete all user settings. I've deleted the presets from every other viable location on my computer and emptied the trash, still to no avail.

So, my question to y'all is: HOW THE HECK DO YOU GET RID OF THESE? THIS IS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL! Do I seriously have to go in and do a mass-wipe of ALL my Adobe apps AND Creative Cloud itself to get this resolved? This is driving me insane, I have other stuff I need to be worrying about.

What should work is-

Right-Click on the {Preset Name}  in the Preset Panel and Left-Click on [Delete]

the LR Preset folder, it's entirely empty

And what Version Number is your Lightroom?

Post a screen-clip of the top 10 lines in the System Info report   { Menu > Help > System Info...}

A reference to file locations can be found here-

And have you tried to Reset the Preferences file?

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .

I've done the right-click method for a few, but unfortunately, the presets are all listen in bulk folders (they're VSCO Desktop) and subsequently there are literally hundreds of them, so doing that one at a time would be fairly tedious. I've tried to right-click the folder itself, but it won't give the option to delete them in bulk.

I've also reset all of the preferences numerous times, sadly to no avail. This was all on the most recent version of LR. I finally went ahead and did a mass wipe of all my Adobe CC apps, including the Adobe CC app itself (which was burrowed in like a tick, I literally had to use my CleanMyMac app to forcibly "shred" it from my system), and did a full re-install. Still showed up, so I deleted LR again and downloaded an older version of it, something like 7.0.1. It's working fine and the presets are gone, but I can't figure out why or how they're still listed in the newest version of LR after all of that.

I appreciate the suggestions! I wish they were working for me, but they're appreciated nonetheless!

When you upgraded to 7.3x the presets (includes those by VSCO) were converted to XMP and relocated to:

Mac: Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / Settings/

Windows: C: \ Users \ [your username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe \ CameraRaw \ Settings \
