Deleting files in LR classic

After the upgrade it takes a very long time to delete photo´s from the cataloge and harddrive. Toy delete 1700 files it took more then 45 minutes.

How long does it takes really to delete the files??

3 minutes for 1700 files is a good time.

Deletion from the hard drive is done via operating system calls. If you have a huge number of files in a single folder (not counting in subfolders), that will impact the performance of deleting files (and any other file operations). If your disk is close to 100% full, that could impact speed as well.

Deletion from the catalog can take a long time depending on many factors, including when the catalog was last optimized.

Have you tried to delete approximately 1700 files before the upgrade? How long did it take then?

I always create subfolders (LR does that for me). It takes long after the upgrade, before it took some 3 minutes to delete a big number like 1700.
