Destination folder

All of a sudden I can't import photos destination folder is not writable. I haven't changed anything.

    Please double-check to make sure the Destination Folder hasn't changed in the LrC Import dialog box; and please double-check t0 make sure that the Destination folder specified does allow write permission.

    I am a complete novice.  How to I check the folder destination does allow write permission.

    What operating system and version?  PC or Mac?
