Details about Syncronisation between Lightroom and Cloud

Hey there,

Finally I decided to change to lightroom CC to get an idea of all these cloud features. Especially the Synchronisation of the Fotos may be helpful. But I haven't found detailled information on how it works in detail and to configure it.

1. does it only sync the catalogue with previews and smart previews or the full resolution pics with change log, ...?

     I wouldn't need the cloud as backup and and I'm not willing to pay another 150€ just for cloud storage

2. It seems Synchronisation is managed by configuration of collections- I haven't made it to sync a collection set or a smart collection. Can you give me an idea how to configure it properly. Syncing only manual collections seems not very helpful for due to the fact 99% of my collections are smart ones.

3. What about configuration of sharing collections? I have seen the dialogue for create a sharing link but no chance to protect it with a password. Did I miss it, or is it missing in general.

Would be nice if you could provide me your experience with these points
