developer module disabled

i'm a long time user of lightroom classic. today when i opened the program and went to edit a photo i received a messgae that the developer module is disabled, please purchase a membership (which i already have and have been using for years). it also says i can sign out via the help menu and enter a serial number if i have one (i don't). i tried signing out anyway and nothing happens.

any thoughts? thanks!
