DNG files getting bigger rather than smaller with new Sony A1 Small and Medium Sized RAW files

I am using the new LR Classic 11.4 for Windows with a Sony A1 and its newest v1.3 firmware.

I routinely convert my ARW files to DNG in Lightroom Classic. As a rule the DNG files are usually about 20% smaller than the original ARW files (which is one of the reasons I like to convert).

LR v 11.4 supports the new Sony firmware and took a bunch of ARW shots in the Small and Medium size.

When they got converted to DNG the size nearly doubles!

Full size are still behaving as you would expect.

It probably just indicates that Sony has a better compression algorithm than the DNG converter.

Thank you for sharing the files. Looks like this is specific to the small and Medium size ARWs you shared. I am not seeing this behaviour on other file formats. Thanks for reporting.
