Dot Matrix Triangle in Folder View

Hello,

Just a curiosity question - does anyone know if this triangle type () in the folders view has a specific meaning?  For example:

Not quite, Denis....it means that the folder has no sub-folders.

You can click on the triangle so that it points down to display contents. I believe the dots indicate there are no files in the folder.
