Question

Downloading Lr 6 from disc, message that it's unable to connect to internet

I purchased Lr 6 a few years ago but am just now downloading it. I realize they have since gone to subscription service but am trying not to do this. It still downloaded fine and even gave me the download id number. But then it says it can not connect to the internet and try again within 72 hrs, despite the fact my laptop has perfect internet connection. It gives me this message each time I try to log in with the option to try again or try later. The same thing happens on my desk top. Any advice?

am just now downloading it

Where from?  Adobe do not have a download link! Or support!

Arrrh- "from disc"  -(slaps forehead!)

I do not know of a "download id number"

If your download is from eBay, or similar site, then you may be getting scammed!

The only known download method now is through this third party site- 6.14 download VERY IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Lr v6 could be installed in two ways- Stand-alone, or Creative Cloud subscription. If you install as 'Stand-alone' you only need your original 'purchased' Serial Number for v6 (+ previous versions if v6 was an update purchase).

However even the Stand-alone version must connect with the Adobe Activation servers to be useable, and I have seen several posts now saying that Activation is not possible.

As far as I know Lightroom 6 version required registration and activation utilising the license key. This required you to create an Adobe a/c to complete this process.

The last update was released December 2017 and official support was discontinued around the end of 2018.

You may need to contact Adobe staff directly via chat or phone to complete this process if it was not done previously.

As far as I know there is no on line process presently available to complete this procedure.
