Having issues downloading photos on SD card onto Macbook Pro through card reader

I am using Lightroom Classic to edit my digital photos. While trying to
down load photos from memory card to computer using a card reader, the
program does not recognize the card saying “no photos detected.”

Specific version number of LrC? The current version is LrC 12.1 as at Dec2022.

Specific version number of macOS? The current version is macOS 13 Ventura and there are known issues.
