Duplicate Foto Folder in Lightroom 6.8

Hello, i am experiencing a very strange behavior with Lightroom 6.8. I am on MAC, my catalog data is located on local hard drive, fotos are on a Synology NAS. Since a couple of days my FOTO folder on NAS is appearing twice in Lightroom after importing fotos. Physically there is just one FOTO folder, but Lightroom has two of them. I do not change folder names in FINDER, just in Lightroom. I did some research even in this forum, but these topics are talking about CAPITALIZATION of folders. I don't think this matches my problem. I had this problem with Lightroom 6 and updated to 6.8 this morning, but problem still exists.

Is anyone out there who had this problem and solved it?

Regards,

Matthias

See if the solution at this post helps: Why is Lightroom creating duplicate folders?

He mentions, "Some people report duplicates without capitalisation," which sounds like your issue. Make sure all image files and the LR catalog are backed up to a separate drive before doing anything.
