Question

Edit an image in Photoshop stored on Synology NAS.

When editing an image LrC in Photoshop that is stored on my Synology NAS and saving it in Photoshop, the result should appear along with the original in LrC. But it doesn't. The finished edited image is in the same folder as the original on the Synology volume. So I can then import it into LrC afterwards, but that's not how it's supposed to work. The flow should be LrC to PS to LrC.

I have added the volume both with SMB and AFP with the same result.

I use Lr Cl 12.0, macOS Ventura 13.0 and latest Synology DSM 7.1.

Hope I can get help so that the "flow" works as it should.

@Anders Arvidsson

I hope you work it out.

I only use the NAS for sharing document and photos between my PC in the upstairs office and the downstairs MacBook Pro M1. I have totally separate backup systems/procedures unrelated to the NAS.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
I haven't solved the problem yet. Maybe someone else has experienced the same problem and solved it?

I don't normally use my Synology DS220+ for this purpose, But, I ran a test using the configuration you describe. Everything worked perfectly with the PS file being saved back to the folder on the Synology and appearing in LrC as usual. My NAS only has one drive configured as JBOD if that would make a difference. I'm using Win 10, LrC 12.0.1 It might be a Mac/Ventura thing. Did it work properly before Ventura. Try the new update to LrC, V12.0.1 which has some compatibility fixes for Ventura.

Thanks Kenneth for the answer!
I use Synology DS1817+ and the disks are configured in a Synology Hybrid Raid. I wouldn't want to use JBOD because if a disk breaks, you've lost all the data. I have tried LrC 12.0.1 and there was no difference. It was after Ventura that I became aware of the problem, but maybe it was there before as well.
