Edit Classic file to Photoshop CC 2018 Not Working

I cannot send files from LightRoom Classic to Photoshop CC 2018 as when you select Edit in, I get a message that files are missing

I get the following message “Some of the application components are missing from the application directory. Please reinstall the application.”

First of all I have the same new files (LightRoom Classic and Photoshop CC 2018 installed on my 27 inch iMac and both work great. There is no problem sending a file to edit in Photoshop CC 2018.

However, as I am on a subscription with Adobe, I just installed the Cloud and then through the Cloud, LightRoom Classic on a brand new MacBook Pro (16 gig of ram) along with Photoshop CC 2018. Both worked ok until I tried to edit a file through LightRoom Classic in Photoshop. Photoshop started to open but then I got this message as noted above. I tried a couple of more times but still got the same message.

So I clicked on the Photoshop icon below and Photoshop CC 2018 opened with the file I wanted to edit. I did my editing and saved and closed the file and the saved file was in LightRoom Classic. Weird!

So from reading on this forum, I deleted the file “com.adobe.Photoshop.plist”, and opened Photoshop. Then closed it and went to LightRoom and tried again to edit another file, but got the same message.Then I deleted Photoshop CC 2018 again through the cloud and reinstalled it … again. Tried to edit another photo and still got the same message.

I can still edit the photo even though I get this message, if I click on the Photoshop icon and when it opens, the correct file is there for me to edit. But it should still work from selecting “Edit in Photoshop” but again that message appears.

Could use some help please. Again, this does not happen on my 27 inch iMac with the 2 new files of LightRoom Classic and Photoshop CC 2018, only on the brand new MacBook Pro
