(edit) First photo can't be read/edited after applying text filter

Hi, whenever I use text in the library filter and the result kicks in, the first picture becomes unreadable (except for a very lowres preview). A restart of lightroom helps, even with the same filter applied (filters locked). But as soon as I type a different set of characters, it happens again with the newly filtered set, and LRC needs to restart to be able to view and work on the first photo.

***** EDIT: it doesn't happen consistently, but occassionally. Even with the same text applied, sometimes the same picture can't be read, but entering different text and then the previous again can solve the problem too. But it is always the first top left. Hard to figure out what the problem might be.

Windows 11 latest, LRC 14.5, CR17.5

Hey, @Peter Vancoillie. Thanks for the detailed post. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

I've tried this, but I couldn't recreate it with the given details. As per your Edit notes, the issue may be intermittent, making it difficult to reproduce and investigate.

Please try to deduce the conditions or numbered steps that can help us recreate this.

For now, (1) Create a new catalog by holding the ALT/Opt key at the launch of Lightroom Classic, or go to File > New catalog.

2 - Import a few sets of images and check if the issue reappears.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hi Sameer, it probably is a problem with the specific catalog. A new one with a similar set and approach doesn't have the problem. I should have checked that myself first before reporting.

Kind regards,

Peter
