Edit in Photoshop Does Not Work - Photoshop Opens But Image Does Not

I am running the latest Lightroom Classic CC version 8.2 and Photoshop CC 20.0.4.

My workflow involves importing photos first to my Macbook Pro with macOS Mojave 10.14.3 internal hard drive. As I need to free up space I transfer them to my external server. The majority of my Lightroom Catalog resides on my server which is locally mounted as a folder, and my Lightroom Catalog points to the server folders, and this is where I frequently edit and export photos from. The photos that reside on my local hard drive, export to Photoshop individually or as layers just fine, but when I try to export a photo that's on my server it opens Photoshop, then the photo(s) never load. I've tried downgrading to older versions of Photoshop and/or Lightroom, and I've tried following another set of instructions I found online to adjust Lightroom export settings. None of these have caused anything to change with the problem.

Please do not revive a four years old thread. Check the date before you post a "me too" message. There are several threads that deal with the current issue.

Thank you! This has solved the problem, other than the warning pop-up. I'm happy to deal with that though and hopefully Adobe fixes the problem with the next ACR release.

Just to add a data point, do things work correctly when the external drive is mounted normally as an external drive?
