Dear all,

I got the problem fixed by deleting all plug-ins and all Adobe programs and settings on my PC.

After a complete re-install I have of course lost some custom pre-sets, actions and so on, however, LrC and PS are behaving as expected again. I will now try to bring back some of the above from the back-up and I will re-install the plug-ins. Let's see if I can find out what has been triggering the problem.

Thank you all for you much appreciated support!

Please post a screenshot of that image in LrC Develop Module.

  • Make sure the History panel is fully shown.
  • Make sure the Histogram is fully shown.
  • Make sure the Navigation panel is shown (sometimes exhibits oddities)
  • Nice to have filmstrip shown, and file name shown (typically above filmstrip)
  • Try to have as many of the right side panels that have modifications in them shown (minimize those without)

What version of Photoshop are you using, and do you use a special custom camera profile in Lightroom? There was a bug in Photoshop some time ago, where sending the image from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop would cause the profile to get lost, resulting in a different appearance of the image in Photoshop. I have never seen it this severe, and that bug was at least a year ago if not two years, but it still looks like something like this bug is happening here.

Please try to reset the preferences of Lightroom and Photoshop to the defualt values. In a first step I would try to reset the Photoshop preferences using the steps decribed here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

It's recommended to backup your settings before resetting the preferences. You can check:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#backup-photoshop-preferences

If this doesn't help try to reset the Lightroom preferences:   https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html

It's also recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/preference-file-and-other-file-locations.html

Please try to disable the option to "Use Graphics Procesor" from Photoshop by going to Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

If it helps, you can check out the steps suggested here:   https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html

Take a look especially point 7 in the "Troubleshoot GPU and Graphics driver" section.

Is your system up-to-date? Do you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. If you have a NVidia graphic card installed, make sure that you are using the recent Studio version of the driver, not the Game Ready version.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 6 - Topaz Photo AI

HI, I have done all the resets - updated the GPU driver - tried with GPU support in PS and LrC and without - no change

Do you have HDR (Windows HD color) enabled in Display settings?

If so, try disabling it.

The histograms clearly show that there has been some extreme processing of the actual underlying data going on here. This isn't a GPU or display issue.

That processing doesn't happen all by itself - something has initiated it. What about those third-party plugins you have installed, sure you didn't hit a button there? There's an awful lot of them...

Your GPU driver is out of date, but I don't know if that causes the issue.

The latest version is 551.23 , you have 546.33.

The histograms in LrC and Ps are dramatically different, and the one in Ps reflects the blue/cyan cast.

So I wonder if you have (inadvertently?) edited the image in Ps.

You have the History panel hidden, what does it say?
