"Edit Watermarks" is not available

LR 5.7.1; OS-X 10.12.6

Regardless of trying to access "edit watermarks"

a.

via the drop-down menu

or

b.

as part of the export dialog (the last choice in the watermark choice drop-down)

nothing happens - LR acts as though I didn't make the request

(based on the HD noise, I'm sure its doing some sort of search,

but doesn't find what its looking for) . . .

Note the current .lrtemplate files/definitions

still reside in the "Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom Settings/Watermarks" folder

Possible clue:

Regarding the 2nd path mentioned above,

the watermark name choices that populate the drop down menu

are old names.

So question:

how to engage the Watermark editor /

&/or

point LR to the appropriate files?

    Correct answer essjay6

Thank you for your response of help . . .

    I stumbled upon a work-around:

empty the Watermarks folder of all .lrtemplate files.

In my case (OS-X), the folder is located at:

    Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Watermarks

As a result, the editor was again available.

    My approach

    a. "wipes out" previously established watermarks

    b. suggests the problem (which I'm still at a loss to explain)

has something to do with the preferences of which you spoke

The Edit Watermarks menu item is under "Lightroom" not "Edit". Hope that helps.

    Tony,

It's under "Edit" on Windows and "Lightroom" on Macs, evidently.

    Hi essjay,

As I understand that you are unable to access the watermark editor for the editing the watermarks in Lightroom. You can go to the Edit menu and select Edit Watermarks and select the desired watermark or create a custom one.

Also, you can refer the tutorial link: How to use the Watermark Editor to create copyright watermarks in Photoshop Lightroom

Thanx for your attention to my problem, Mohit.

    As detailed earlier,

when I click on "Edit Watermarks,"

    nothing happens -

i.e. the watermark editor does not appear.

You may try and reset the Lightroom preferences back to defaults and check if that helps. Refer: Recover catalog and images after resetting preferences in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
