Editing in LRC has stopped working

Editing sliders in LRC started slowing down and finally stopped working all together. Camera raw filter in PS works fine. System info:

Previous versions of Mac OS 14 shipped with buggy graphics drivers for AMD Radeon 5000-series graphics processors.  I haven't seen many reports about that since last fall. But a quick diagnostic step: Set Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off and restart LR.

Previous versions of Mac OS 14 shipped with buggy graphics drivers for AMD Radeon 5000-series graphics processors.  I haven't seen many reports about that since last fall. But a quick diagnostic step: Set Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off and restart LR.

After shutting off the graphics processor LR  editing now works but at VERY slow pace. Thanks for the reply

That does suggest the the problem could be with the AMD graphics drivers in Mac OS 15.5.  If that's true, there's not much you can do about it. Last year with Mac OS 14, it took Apple and AMD six months to update them after reports started surfacing here of issues between LR and Intel Macs. Intel Macs are clearly no longer a priority for either Apple or AMD (who no longer sells GPUs to Apple.)

 

On the other hand, yours is one of only a handful of reports I've seen here the last few months, so it may be unrelated to the drivers.

How big is the catalog that you're working on? Did this happen after working on multiple images? Does relaunching the app have an effect? If yes, try optimizing the preferences of Lightroom Classic using the steps suggested here: https://adobe.ly/40chMoF

It did happen after working on multiple images. I went through the optimazation steps you sent, but that didn't help. I'm beginning to think the issue is with the graphics processor as noted in another response. Thanks for the feedback however.
