Educational version question

Hello. I have an Educational version of Lightroom 4.4 (2013) on my laptop, which was originally licensed through my school. It still works perfectly for all my needs in and out of the classroom, and I love the version. However, my laptop is about to croak, and I would like to move it to my external hard drive, since my school is now only using Chromebooks. I have moved all of my other programs over without a problem, but I can not seem to find a way to move Lightroom. The only thing I was able to move over is the "shortcut", but the main program does not seem to move. Any thoughts or suggestions? Your assistance is much appreciated. Thank You.

As long as you still have the valid serial number I think you can get and use a fresh copy here:  Update information for older versions of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

I don't know how well it will run on an external drive.

Good luck!  A a lot has changed since version 4 and you may have trouble running it on a new computer with a newer operating system.
