in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

The Lightroom catalog can't be opened because another app already has it open

I do not open lightroom because it tells me that the catalog is already open in another application, I have done what I have seen in adobe, the vuscar the pictures folder in lightroom and does not appear, I have desisted and reinstalled and remains the same How can I solve it? Do I desist Photoshop and reinstall it?

When Lightroom is running, a lock file is created to prevent other users from accessing the catalog.

The lock file is normally deleted when Lightroom is closed, but if it's not closed down properly (crash or power failure), the lock file may not be deleted, and you'll get that error message.

To fix this, use the File Explorer (Windows), or the Finder (Mac), and go to the folder that contains the Lightroom catalog. The default location is inside your Pictures folder.

The lock file will have the same name as the catalog, but the extension .lock.

If you can't see file extensions, you have to enable them in your operating system.

Delete the lock file, do not delete anything else. Now launch Lightroom.
