Question

Enable more advanced filters in smart collections

When creating a smart collection I have the option to create different conditions but only to select either “Any”, or “All” or “None”. I would like that for each condition I could select if a AND or a OR should be applied.

Example: I want a specific collection where I have used any of my main cameras and a specific lens, I want to be able to create something like Camera SN is abcd OR Camera SN is efgh AND Lens is xpto.

    @bynuno

    Your example was “I have used used any of your main cameras a specific lens ... like Camera SN is abcd OR Camera SN is efgh AND Lens is xpto.”

    That seems like (Camera SN is abcd OR Camera SN is efgh) AND Lens is xpto, but @JohanElzenga has shown a smart collection for Camera SN is abcd OR (Camera SN is efgh AND Lens is xpto), which I’m understand your example correctly, is correct.

    Example is fine, I was just not aware how to create this nested logic, which now I can figure out :)

    @bynuno  BTW, this is your smart collection example:

    That already exists. Hold down the Alt/Option key when you click on the plus icon to add another criterion. That will allow you to add a nested new any/all option.

    The Alt/Option is good - if we know it’s there.

    Yeah, that is typical for Adobe. Add powerful extra options, but hide these below the Alt/Option key and don’t tell anyone…😛
