"enter" key functions after remove tool. not so much after "generative ai" remove tool.

Question

Ok, so this is a small issue but it annoys me; Using the remove tool, I remove something and press “Enter” on my keyboard. The tool deselects and I can move on to the next photo in the queue.

When I remove something with the Generative AI Removal tool, I remove something and press “Enter” on my keyboard...but nothing happens UNTIL I click the cursor in the empty border area surrounding a photo. Then, and only then, the removal tool becomes deselected after pressing “Enter”. This is especially aggravating when working on horizontally oriented photos where empty border area is extremely limited in size.

I hope that was clear. Let me know if not, and I’ll do my best to explain more thoroughly.

Hi@JBedfordPhoto,Apologies for the delayed response, and thank you for the clear description. What you’re reporting matches an issue we’re already tracking, where Enter/Esc may not close the Remove tool after using Generative AI Remove.Your additional observation is particularly helpful: Enter begins working after you first click in the empty area surrounding the image. I’ve added that detail to the existing report for the team, as it may help narrow down whether keyboard focus is involved.Could you please update to 15.6, test, and if you are still able to reproduce this, please share your complete Help > System Info.If possible, a short screen recording showing the sequence would also be very helpful:Standard Remove > Enter works > Generative AI Remove > Enter doesn’t work > click outside the image > Enter works, would also be very useful. In the meantime, clicking outside the image before pressing Enter or using the mouse to exit the Remove tool are available workarounds. Thanks for reporting this.Best,Anshul Saini
