Erroneous pop-ups when attempting to edit in Ps from LrC

I have LrC 13.1 and Ps 25.4.0 on my MacBook Pro M1 (2021) running Mac OS 14.2.1.  I have uninstalled Ps (Beta) because of the following.  Every time I try to edit an image in PS [Edit in… Photoshop 2024] I get a popup window:  Do you want to open in Adobe Photoshop (Beta), which is already running? (It is NOT, as far as I can tell) If not, please close it and retry. And I get two buttons to choose from: Cancel or Open in Adobe Photoshop (Beta). I could not “close and retry” because Ps (Beta) was not open! But if I choose the latter, the chosen image opens with normal dialog windows in Photoshop 2024.  Before I uninstalled Ps (Beta), there was nothing I could do to edit in Photoshop 2024.

Any similar experience?  Any fix?
