Error Importing Presets in Lightroom Classic

I was able to import presets in Lightroom CC but now that I've downloaded the Classic version I can't import any. I continue to get the message, "An Unknown Error Occured".

Hi everyone,

Need little help. While importing presets in Lightroom Classic CC I am getting an error "A file could not be created ".

Any idea how to resolve this?
I have already imported Preset earlier but never faced such problem before.

Please help.

Most likely you are trying to import the old .lrtemplate presets into a new version of Lightroom. Please read the earlier messages of this thread.

So, the profiles you want to import, are these user presets you created? Or third party presets you obtained?

and were. They in your previous LR copy?

Note that at version 7.3 of Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, Adobe switched from .lrdata to xmp. If the lrdata presets were in your previous version, then they supposedly would have been converted during install of the new LR.

These are 3rd party presets, and this is a brand new computer. I have an old computer and version of lightroom from a few years ago from before they required a subscription. I had a free trial of just Lightroom CC and imported free 3rd party presets 5 days ago. I purchased a plan and tried to add the same presets in the Classic version and keep getting that error message.

So do as I suggested and place those presets in the old location. If there is no old 'Develop Presets' folder because the computer is brand new, then create one.

by Lightroom CC are you referring to LightRoom version 6?

As for your latest copy, in LR, click on help, click on System Information, in the dialog that pops up, click on copy, paste that into reply.

I do not yet know what your particular problem is, but from your system info, it looks like your windows OS is some four months out of date (Version: 10.0.16299)

probably not the cause, but not keepin windows up to date is bad form.

Also, it appears that your graphics driver is not up to date, in thus case an onboard video chip? Out if date video drivers can cause issues in LR.

will ask a new question in next post as to keep issues seperate.
