Error Message:failed to find a place for the imported files

When using LRC Version 12.2 with Safari V16.3 I get the error message: Failed to find a place for the imported files. This is a new problem. I am able to only download half of my DNG files to an external Hard Drive.

Welcome to the Lightroom Classic community. I'll help you figure this out.

Install the latest version of Lightroom Classic again & try these steps to iron out any underlying permission issues.

Try this step on the external drive, where images are stored if needed.
- Search for Disk Utility from Finder's spotlight search or magnifying glass.
- Run 'First Aid' diagnostic on the external drive. Check this to learn more: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210898
- Restart the computer

Sameer, Just returned home from holiday and tried again. I am using Ventura 13.2.1 and LRC 12.2.1. I used 2 Leica cameras SL2 and M11. I am able to download all SL2 photos to ext Hard Drive with no problem. When attempting to download from M11 to external HD it will only download some photos. Example it would only download 64 of 102 photos the I get error message saying "failed to find a place for the imported files (38)" then a listing of the files. They downloaded files appear randomand are not sequential. I tried a second time and it only downloaded the same 64 photos? All files are DNG. When attempting to import the photos they are all visible in LRC so I know they are on the SD card. There is plenty of room on the external HD so that is not a problem. Any idea why it will not import all the photos on the SD card and how can I fix this issue? Thank you!!
