Error messages received when masking using the latest update to Adobe Lightroom

Now that I've installed the latest Adobe Lightroom update, the masks are not working as expected. When I attempt to mask the background, an object, or a subject, a window pops up and says "Something went wrong" and below that is says "There was an unexpected error and your request could not be completed".

Any advice??

Thanks,

Julie Picardi

I've got it working now! Thanks! I had not rebooted LR after clicking the
GPU to Auto.

If you had Windows OS, I would ask about your GPU, but as you have MACOS, and cannot change that driver, I will add what MACOS to the inquiry. This is typically a driver issue.

  • What MACOS version?
  • What GPU? make/model
  • What GPU driver?

Oh, and in Rosetta?

  • What CPU?
  • Why Rosetta? Are you tethering?
  • If you turn that off, any change?

No, I'm not tethering. But the support guys at Topaz had instructed me to turn on Rosetta when I was having issues with Topaz a few months ago, so Rosetta is still on.

Now, since I've talked to you, I've had help from Adobe. They told me to turn off the GPU under Lightroom-Performance. I've done that, and the masking seems to be working better, but I still have to close out of Lightroom at times and reopen for the masking to work. Maybe I should turn off Rosetta as well?
