Question

error opening catalog when updated to 7.01 lightroom classic update on creative cloud.

I updated to lightroom classic and all seemed to go well. Today when it updated to 7.01 I get a catalog error. It will not open any of my catalogs and now it opens to an empty catalog. How do I get back my previous catalog with all my edits? I am losing precious time editing with this glitch.

Hi Momontheplains,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have documented several fixes/workaround to catalog related issues in the latest version. Please refer Known issues and workaround

If that does not help, Please check out the steps listed in this article Recover catalog and images after resetting preferences in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Akash

The “known issues” link goes to a LR CC document. I think the OP’s post is about LR CL.

You are correct KR Seals, this is getting confusing. I am updated lightroom classic.  Previous to the first update I used LIghtroom mobile and synced edited photos (did this using collections) to my phone. Would love some direction on how to get my catalog back before the last update. 7.0.1. I did find my backups that were dated October 20th, which would work as I did not do any editing to my photos that week. Would like direction on how to get that backup reloaded and useable as my catalog.  Thank you for your time.
