Even with half of RAM not used, LRC freezes pc while uploading\exporting

Good morning everyone.

I had this problem with Lightroom Classic for many years, and never found a solution.

Especially while uploading pictures to Pic-Time, but also when exporting, LRC freezes my pc, even with half of RAM still unused. I have an i9 12900K with 64 gb DDR5 RAM.

When I send my pictures to Pic-Time using Publish Services, I can't do anything with my pc, and checking with ctrl+alt+del the memory usage, is at 49% with LRC using only 27 gb of RAM.

Anybody have faced and solved problems like this?

After some weeks, I'm here to tell bad news. During import and export, even after deactivativ the graphic acceleration, the process still temporarily freezes my pc for 6\7 seconds in a random way.

This seems to be an integrated GPU – Intel UHD Graphics 770.

Adobe software does not work well with dual GPUs. It can cause issues like the ones you are describing, so try to disable it.

Go to Control panel > Device manager > Display adapters, right click Intel UHD Graphics 770, and choose disable.

That's both a Studio and Gaming driver. Note that both Nvidia and Adobe strongly recommend Studio drivers for use with LR and Photoshop, since they get extra testing with creative apps. The Gaming-only drivers are released more frequently (to satisfy impatient gamers) and don't get as much testing with creative apps. LR often trips over bugs in graphics drivers, of which there are many (which is why the manufacturers release them once or twice a month).

1. There is a more recent Studio driver released just two days ago. So as a next step, update to that:

If that doesn't help, try @dj_paige's suggestion for diagnosing the problem.

2. First, set Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off and try the exports. If the problem still occurs, then it's not likely related to the GPU.

3. If it avoids the problem, then try setting Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Custom and uncheck Use GPU For Export.

Let us know the results of all three steps.

"Freezes PC" does this mean that the computer has to be restarted? If so, then you have a hardware malfunction somewhere, or a bad driver somewhere. Approximately how many images are you trying to export?

Exporting does not (and should not) use a lot of RAM

My bad, I wanted to say that the pc temporarily freezes during the process. So I can't navigate internet, open folders etc. I have to patiently wait the upload\exporting process ends, and then the pc go back to normal.
