Explain Lr Classic Sync and cloud drive space

Would someone explain the relationship between a Lr Classic collection that is sync'd and the cloud drive space used. I have a collection of about 2000 Tif files that occupy 120GB on disk but consume only 6GB of cloud space. I am confused. Is Sync storing JPG versions of my files?

Also, be aware that there are three different components of the overall cloud storage allowance:

1. Original images stored in the cloud by any of the Lightroom apps.
2. Cloud Documents, which you may have created in one of the other Adobe apps which supports those documents.
3. Files stored in the Dropbox-style Creative Cloud Files folder on your desktop (which are then synced to your cloud account from where they can be shared with other people).

It's the sum of all those possible components that make up your overall cloud usage.

If you sync FROM Lightroom Classic TO the cloud, only smart previews of the files are uploaded to the cloud, not full resolution copies of the originals. Smart Previews are 2560 pixels on the long edge, and do NOT count against your cloud storage allowance. Images synced FROM any of the Lightroom apps (Web, Mobile, Desktop) are always uploaded as full resolution copies of the originals, and these DO count against your cloud storage allowance.
