Question

Export to specific aspect ratio

Is there a way to batch export a set of images to a specific aspect ratio by padding the top and bottom (landscape)

Example if I have a landscape image say 3000 x 2000 px is there a way to keep the image as is and export to 3000x3000 1:1 aspect so that there's 500px (white) padding at the top and 500 (white) at the bottom. But to do this for all images regardless of the size to automatically apply the right padding to create a 1:1 aspect ratio for all with centred image. I guess the PS equivalent is effectively increase canvas size to square with the bg colour to white.

You can do this by using the Print Module and "printing to a JPG file.   It kind of convoluted and has been described in detail on other threads on the forum.

Export in Lightroom cannot change the aspect ratio. As you have Photoshop, this might be the easiest way to do it. Export the images normally and then run an action in Photoshop. Another option may be using a plugin in Lightroom.
