Exporting a TIFF from LR Classic - losing the alpha channels (selections)

After soft proofing a TIFF with LR classic I need to export the TIFF file to be saved as a soft proofed version. But when I export a TIFF file from LR classic all the alpha channels are lost and therefore all my saved selections. Is this to be expected or is there a way around this other than pasting the exported TIFF in PS onto a copy that hasn't been soft proofed (and therefore has all the alpha channel info)?

Thanks,

Phil

Yes, this is to be expected. Lightroom creates a new tiff (unless you export the tiff 'as original', but that means any Lightroom edits will not be applied), and because Lightroom does not support alpha channels and layers, those are lost on export.

Thanks Johan

I guessed this must be the case. So my options are do the soft proof in Photoshop or save a copy of the original TIFF file to preserve channels.

Phil
