I am on a macbook air, using 2 external WD hard drives.  I am also on the Adobe monthly subscription program.  My LR Classic program resided on one of the external hard drives that died.  How do I reload LR classic program so I can use LR Classic?

Your Adobe program, or your catalog on EHD? Why would a MAC install a program to a EHD?

And, what version? Some people refer to older perpetual license versions of LR as LR Classic, as in the desktop version. I do not want to assume you mean Photoshop Lightroom Classic Creative Cloud (full long name, aka LR Classic CC)

Your new MACBook Air, what sort of internal hard drive, if it’s Solis State, or flash or some mix, keep the program on it. Just simipler and debatable if ant performance increase can be obtained by its location in respect to hard drive speed.

Now, as for catalog location, that is a subject of debate, keep internal? Keep on larger External? What sort of external hard drive, what sort of connection between MAC and drive? Are you going to use catalog on another computer? Is speed important, is ease of transporting between different computers important? Are you running out of internal drive space? (yes that one more an issue for the images, not as much for catalog or previews)

First, I am on the monthly subscription deal, so I am on LR Classic Creative Cloud (TERRIBLE NAME!!!)

Second, I moved the Mac install so that it would install on my EHD, under the theory that things might run faster. I still have a "snippet" on my mac that is needed to use LR.  This has worked for many months without a problem, until the EHD decided to bomb..  My photos are downloaded on two external hard drives, (one that dies, and a second one).

LR backups are on my MACBOOK air.

Depending on what things are running slow, an external HD may or may not be a solution (although I doubt it really speeds up anything in Lightroom).

You can download the software from Adobe. Download and install the free trial, apply your Creative Cloud user ID, and you should be able to re-install LR.
