External Drive Volume Name Issue
I'm just now moving from a MacBook Pro 2015 to a 2021. I have all my orginal photo on an external disc drive and the Lightroom catalog on the Macintosh HD drive.
When migrating to the new computer, I have investigated in a new external disc drive and prepared this new 2 TB disc with all the orgiginal photos. The old one with only 1TB is almost full so the move to a new disc was necessary.
I have copied all the Lightroom Classic catalog files to the new laptop.
The name of the volume of the old disc drive is "Foto 1 Original Mac", where all the orgiginal photoes are stored.
The last step in my migration. process was to set the new 2TB Lacie disc drive to the volume name "Foto 1 Original Mac". But to my surprice I wasn't able to set such a long name. The Mac process only accepted 11 characters.
So setting a shorter name on the new volume, like "Foto 1" for example, doesn't work when I start Lightroom Classic with the catalog settings from the old MacBook Pro because the volume name is of cource "Foto 1 Orgignal Mac".
Now I wonder if anyone can give me an idea of how to solve this problem?
I have only one catalog in Libghtroom with about 50.000 photoes.
