External Editors unavailable using catalog on an external drive

I have one of  my catalogs on an external drive and when I try to access an external editor including Photoshop, all of the editors are greyed out / unavailable. When I access catalogs on the MacBook main drive they are all active. Is there anyway to direct the catalog on the external drive to access the applications on the main drive. I have Mac OS High Sierra on a MacBook Pro.

Thanks

Do your thumbnails in Lr Grid view show a '!' that might indicate Lr thinks they are "missing" ?

Do your folders in the Lr Folder panel show a '?'

Does Lightroom show the External Drive with the same name as does the Mac Finder?

And- where are your original files?

You need the camera files available for Lightroom to be able to 'send' them to any external editor.

The Lr Catalog does not contain your photos.

    Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .

The raw files are on the external drive under the same main folder as the catalog.

Please show us a screen shot of the whole LR window of the Library module with Grid view selected.

Are there any Exclamation ( ! ) marks on any of your images?
