Question

Failing to import to catalogue - windows

Hi, I have been using LrC for years now and stored the images in a local drive. All of a sudden the import is stalling - even with a single image to import. LrC shows me the image in the relevant folder - such as when I use "sync folders", I can check the boxes of the images to import, the process starts and the activity bar says "import files at their current location" but nothing happens. Normally it is pretty quick but now it doesn't move at all and no images are imported. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks

Nick

Hi @Nick WC

Have you had a chance to try GoldingD's suggestion? If so, let us know if it helped. You could also try creating a new catalog and importing your photos into that one to see if it works.

Let us know how it goes! Thanks a bunch!

Are there videos in the folder? If so, try removing the videos from the folder and importing them separately.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have tried importing just a single image from a different folder but get the same result. Different file types, RAW and jpg, same result. Thanks though.

Try importing just one photo via Copy. Point is to see if an error message that may be missing when via Add occurs.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. I will give it a go.

I have a laptop which accesses the same file store. I use both to access/edit.  It's working fine. I may reinstall the software, since I have a backup system.
