Question

File Not Found on laptop, works on iPhone

Hey everyone, hoping to get some help understanding how my files are stored on the cloud.

I like to work in Classic CC on my Macbook Air, but I do a lot of editing for Instagram etc. so I like to work on my phone to see how it looks on that screen before uploading. I started saving everything to an external HDD as I didn't want to clog up my internal HDD, but that means I seem to need to have it connected to my laptop every time I want to edit there. Conversely when I use Lightroom CC for iPhone I can edit the cloud saved files and there's no error messages. Can I not get Classic CC to also work with the cloud saved files? Alternatively, can I get Classic CC to use the Adobe Cloud as the saving destination? I can't seem to figure this out.

No, Lightroom Classic cannot work with cloud files. What you can do however is create smart previews for the images you want to edit. Then you do not need the original images on the external disk during editing.
