File renamed In Explorer but not in Lightroom Classic

After processing and exporting images to a sub-folder in Lightroom Classic I renamed the files in Explorer.

Lightroom still shows the original file names and Library/Rename Photo does not work.

I assume if I use Synchronise Folder, Lightroom will  treat the files as missing photos and remove the files from Lightroom.

Is there a way to update the filenames?

Don't do the renaming outside of Lightroom in the future. Lightroom lost in the case the connection to the image in the file system.

Try to rename the file to the old filename and check if Lightroom "knows" and find the image again.

If this works rename the image in Lightroom.
