Files cannot copy to destination folder

I am trying to import photographs into LR classic and get the following error message "Could not copy file to destination folder bwcause it is not writeable" Example of file name _JMP5569.ARW

can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this? I am working on a Mac desktop

Jim has you pointed in the correct direction.

 

Maybe a first thing to check is to expand the Destination panel and verify the the files are going where you want them to go.

 

Also, if you just upgraded to Catalina, there is a new "privacy and security" app that may need some settings corrected for LR.

Use your operating system tools to examine the permissions for the folder to which you are trying to import the images and make sure that that folder has both read and write permissions. If it doesn't then change the permissions appropriately.
