Files deleted in OneDrive

Hi,

Whenever I upload new photos to LRC saving them to an external HD and OneDrive I receive an email from OneDrive "We noticed that you have recently deleted a large number of files from your OneDrive". Looking in the recycle bin the files include -

Lightroom Catalog Ircat - wal

metadatahelper.db -wal

previews.db. journal

376E23AC-A33F..........................................

Can anyone help with explaning why these files were deleted, what they might be and whether they should be restored?

Maybe this post might be more suited to a OneDrive forum but I have started here.

Cheers,

Lynton

Something like the "wal" files  (Write Ahead Logs) are temporary files that the Lr-Classic catalog uses ( and changes/discards) when you run and close Lr-Classic.

It is ill advised to have a Catalog in OneDrive. The constant syncing of catalog actions with OneDrive makes the catalog very prone to corruption. It is best that your catalog is not in OneDrive but rather on a local folder that is not synced with OneDrive whatsoever.

Thanks Rob,

THANK YOU for your reply.

I gather that the deleted files are not important (do not have to be restored) and that I should remove my catalog from OneDrive.

Is there a simple way to do this or should I google the "how to". I enjoy taking beautiful pictures but find the "management" process tiresome!

Cheers,

Is there

Basically, you cannot mix Adobe products and third-party cloud services (Google, Apple, Microsoft, Dropbox... none are supported.) The best approach is to turn off OneDrive syncing for any folder that is used or accessed by Adobe software.
