fill chequerboard with something else other than white?

Hi

When you over crop an image you have transparent sections outside the image. when you export these as JPG, understandably it fills that with a colour (as JPG cant do transparent), but it always uses white. 
Is there an option to make the default another colour, ie black.  saves extra work

No, Lightroom does not have an option to fill transparent areas with another color than white on export as jpeg.

Hey, @simonbrattphotography. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out. 

 

As you know, JPGs don't have transparency. Images outside of Lightroom Classic can be due to the specific app preferences & how your OS is set up. 

Or maybe I am not on point about your workflow. So, could you share a set of screenshots that show what it is right now and what you wish to change?
