Filter toolbar empty

For years we had the filter toolbar above the strip view where I can directly filter by flagged, label, whatever.

Now, this toolbar is just visible for 1 sec after starting LR and then it’s gone.

Even if I select “Default Columns” from the filter, it stays empty - and only the “Flagged” or “Rating” selection in the filters dropdown shows a filter (but only the selected one)

Regardless of the list of confusing duplicate filter entries, I happened to stumble upon the solution to the problem:
You can click on the word “Filter:”—and then the toolbar slides to the left. If it’s always been that way, then I must have clicked on it by accident and made the filter toolbar disappear—without knowing that you can make it reappear by clicking on it again.

@konradSL still missing the filter toolbar

Please post a full-resolution screenshot (not a phone pic) of the entire LR window -- that will help us better understand what you’re seeing and maybe give clues.

@konradSL but now have every Filter Preset twice in a random order in the drop down

This is a harmless bug that Adobe is investigating. You can get rid of the duplicates by doing clicking Preferences > Presets > Show All Other Lightroom Presets. That will open Finder / File Explorer with the Lightroom settings folder selected. Go to the Filter Presets subfolder and delete the duplicate .lrtemplate files. Restart LR.

Try resetting the preferences of Lightroom Classic:  How to reset Lightroom Classic preferences (adobe.com)

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

One thing to check: Each preset in the menu is an .lrtemplate file you can open with a text editor. Go into the folder where they’re stored, and see if there are duplicate .lrtemplate files with unexpected names.

To get to the folder, in Lightroom Classic open Preferences, click the Presets tab, and click the button “Show All Other Lightroom Presets”. This will switch to the desktop and open the folder containing all non-Develop presets. Open the Lightroom folder (which should already be selected), then open the Filter Presets folder, and see how the files in that folder correspond to the filter presets menu. If there are weird duplicates, delete them to hopefully leave a clean presets menu with no duplicates.
