Finding the develop settings I used after moving images

Question

I usually move my photo's from my computer to my external hard-drive after I have edited them. However, this time I made two errors, I didn't create virtual copies of the images I worked on and I made some errors with moving and then finding the missing link to the photo's.

Is there any way I can recover those develop settings? It was the first time in a long time I was happy with my edit and now I've lost the develop settings.

Develop settings are stored in the catalog, not in the images, so moving images will not make you lose edits. Sounds like you perhaps imported them again? In that case, there is no way to recover the edits, unless you made a catalog backup in between.
