Folder showing negative value for number of photos

Question

I had a folder of 928 whale images and worked fopr several days and got the numbe down to 243.  I just looked at the list of folders and photos and see -54, while I clearly have 243.  I just also lookd at the "previous import entry and it's showing 205.  What in the world can be going on.  I have  44000 catalogued, key worded, and geotagged images in this folder for over the past 15 years.  This is a criticalpart of my long-term research. I absolutely need some help here.

Have you shutdown both LrC and the computer and restarted?When LrC starts doing unusual things, the best thing to try is to reset the preferences.

Rename your "Yourcatalog Helper.lrdata" to file in your catalog folder to "OLDYourcatalog Helper.lrdata".  It sometimes gets out of sync.  LrC will rebuilt it. If it gets rid of your issue you can then delete the OLD file.
